ABOUT THE PHYSICIAN PARTNERSHIP AWARD FOR DELIVERING VALUE THROUGH
   CLINICAL COLLABORATION

The Crimson Physician Partnership Award recognizes Crimson cohort members that have achieved significant organizational performance gains through productive collaboration with physicians. The award highlights the exceptional efforts of our members to enhance the value of health care through innovative performance improvement programs that leverage the Crimson platform.

Applicants for the 2010 award were required to submit evidence of demonstrated collaboration with physicians, including routine utilization of Crimson by physicians and physician leaders, as well as documented improvements in organizational or clinical performance outcomes as a result of access to and utilization of the Crimson platform.

ANNOUNCING 2010 WINNERS

The Advisory Board Company’s Crimson Initiative is pleased to present Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, an affiliate of Sutter Health, and Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare with the inaugural 2010 Crimson Physician Partnership Award for their efforts to improve clinical outcomes while delivering care at lower costs, benefiting patients and their larger communities.

Achieving Breakthroughs in Hospitalist Cost and Quality

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, based in Berkeley and Oakland, California, is being recognized for engaging hospitalist physicians institution-wide to reduce mortality rates and hospital readmissions, while reducing the number of days patients spend in the hospital.
